Research on various Drymix mortar additives

Dry mortar, also known as mortar dry powder, dry mortar, dry mix powder, refers to the dry sieving process of aggregates (such as quartz sand), inorganic cementitious materials (such as cement) and additives (such as polymers), etc., according to a certain proportion of physical mixing and become a kind of particles or powders, to bags or bulk form to the site, add water and mixing can be used directly after the material. Dry mortar has the characteristics of high product quality, full range of products, easy to use and so on.

Dry-Mixed Mortar Products

Dry-mixed mortar for external wall insulation system:

1) One-component mortar, that is, dry-mixed mortar in common. It is a powder adhesive that has been pre-mixed in the factory. The construction site only needs to add a proportion of mixing water according to the instructions and stir evenly before use. Material transportation and mixing are relatively simple, and the mixing ratio is easy to control, which is favored by on-site construction personnel.

2) Two-component mortar. It is a 6-liquid adhesive produced and packaged in the factory, and a certain proportion of dry powder or cement provided by the manufacturer is added at the construction site and can use after stirring evenly. The transportation of materials involves solid and liquid components, which is more complicated than single-component materials. When mixing materials, if the supplier of the solid and liquid components has been packaged and provided in proportion, it only needs to be mixed and stirred on site, and the mixing process is simple and easy to control; Metering, the process is slightly complicated, and the control is relatively tricky.

3) Hollow microbead thermal insulation mortar. It is a special single-component hollow microbead dry-mixed mortar with excellent thermal insulation performance and function like general light plastering mortar. Compared with traditional polystyrene particle thermal insulating mortar and expanded perlite thermal insulating mortar, hollow microbead mortar has many advantages such as high strength, lightweight, thermal insulation, heat insulation, low water absorption, high bonding strength, fire resistance, water resistance, weather resistance. It can be directly used as a lightweight thermal insulation plastering mortar on walls of various bases, such as aerated concrete blocks, aerated concrete bricks, ceramic bricks, shale bricks, and other porous and lightweight new wall materials. No hollowing, cracking, good cohesiveness, high strength, and good fire resistance make up for many defects and deficiencies in preparing thermal insulation mortars with polystyrene particles and ordinary expanded perlite. It overcomes the phenomena of high water absorption rate of expanded perlite, easy pulverization, the significant shrinkage rate of slurry, low strength and cracking in the later stage, and reduced thermal insulation performance as well as made-up disadvantages, including poor workability, considerable rebound during construction, and shrinkage and cracking. However, due to the good comprehensive performance and simple structure of the hollow thermal insulation mortar, the construction process and labor intensity are significantly reduced, and materials and construction costs are saved.

4) Polystyrene particle insulating mortar. It is compounded by proprietary polymer dry powder, EPS light aggregate, inorganic filler, and various additives and is widely used in internal and external wall insulation, roof, and slope roof.

5) Crack-resistant flexible plastering mortar. It is essential in the entire external thermal insulation system. The most likely problem in actual engineering is cracking, which leads to erosion by moisture or rain, which increases the thermal conductivity of the thermal insulation layer and reduces the Thermal insulation effect. Therefore, the crack resistance, flexibility, impact resistance, and water absorption of plastering mortar become essential factors in measuring the quality of the external thermal insulation system.
